The Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has extended congratulations to Natia Turnava on her appointment as Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
In a congratulatory letter, Jeroen Clicq, the IMF Executive Director and Alternate Director Marnix van Rij expressed their enthusiasm for continuing the Fund’s collaboration with the NBG.
“Please accept our sincere congratulations on your appointment as Governor of the National Bank of Georgia. We look forward to continuing our partnership and wish you every success in your work,” the letter stated.
Natia Turnava was appointed as NBG Governor last week by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili. Her nomination was put forward by the NBG Board, which recently welcomed four new members following their approval by the Georgian Parliament on February 6. The Board is composed of nine members.
