The Political Council of the ruling Georgian Dream party on Wednesday said the US President-elect Donald Trump’s “successful” fulfilment of the objective of dismantling the deep state could ensure a qualitative reboot in Georgian-American relations.
In a statement, the ruling party noted that the team of President Trump was making “promising” statements about dismantling the deep state within American official bodies.
“President Trump stated before the election that “either America destroys the deep state, or the deep state destroys America”. It is evident that over the past four years, the deep state has been destroying not only America but also numerous countries around the world. The deep state has caused severe economic problems for the European Union. It has engulfed several nations in the flames of war. The most devastating impact of the deep state's patrons has been on our friendly nation, Ukraine. Until 2014, Ukraine enjoyed sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace, and an economy valued at nearly 200 billion. Today, it is practically destroyed, with the authors of the Maidan taking no responsibility for this outcome”, the statement said.
“President Trump's successful fulfilment of the objective of dismantling the deep state could ensure a qualitative reboot in Georgian-American relations, which, we believe, equally aligns with the interests of both Georgia and the United States”, the ruling party noted.
The statement further stressed that dismantling the “metastases” of the deep state in Europe would take relatively more time.
“As Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban noted “Soros lost Washington with President Trump's election, but Brussels is still in his hands”. Naturally, “Soros” here refers not to a specific individual but to the oligarchic network behind the deep state”, the Georgian Dream party said.
