The Government of Georgia on Wednesday declared January 9 the day of mourning to honour the lives of five children who perished in a tragic fire in the village of Saberio in the Russian-occupied Gali district.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze signed a decree mandating that state flags be flown at half-mast on all administrative buildings across Georgia.

The Government of Georgia expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the children, reaffirming its solidarity during this devastating time.

Five minors on Sunday died in a fire in the Russian-occupied Abkhazia. According to available information, the fire started in electrical wires, which resulted in a gas tank exploding in one of the rooms.
