The National Tourism Administration of Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development took part in the prestigious International Travel Media Conference in Great Britain and France.

According to the National Tourism Administration, representatives from British, French, and American media, alongside PR specialists and tourism sector professionals, explored Georgia’s vibrant tourism industry at the International Media Marketplace held in London and Paris. A dedicated presentation about Georgia was organised as part of the event.

“The National Tourism Administration participated in international media conferences across Great Britain and France. These gatherings offered us invaluable opportunities to connect with leading media platforms such as BBC, CNN, Condé Nast Traveler, and National Geographic. We maintain active collaborations with these outlets, regularly contributing articles and programmes. The European market, particularly Britain and France, is of great strategic importance to us. We participate actively in various events, and we are confident that this year will see a rise in visitors from these countries,” said Maia Omiadze, Head of the National Tourism Administration.

The International Media Marketplace is recognised as one of the most influential travel media conferences worldwide, attracting approximately 700 journalists, bloggers, and representatives from tourism and marketing sectors during both events.

To promote Georgia as a premier travel destination in French, British, European, and American markets, the National Tourism Administration’s representatives held targeted meetings with journalists, travel writers, and bloggers from outlets such as BBC Travel, National Geographic Traveller, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller, Le Figaro, Voyage, National Geographic France, Le Monde, Le Parisien, GEO, Condé Nast Traveller France, TourMaG, TV5, Lonely Planet, Premium Magazine, and others.

“This year marks the 14th anniversary of hosting the International Media Marketplace in the UK. We’ve previously held this forum in Singapore, Sydney, Berlin, Paris, London, and New York. It would be wonderful to host this event in Georgia someday. Georgia is one of the most active participants in this exhibition, as it offers a unique opportunity for direct engagement with the country, something that’s difficult to achieve without permanent offices or PR representation here. We are delighted to have Georgia represented and sincerely hope it continues to attract many interested visitors,” said Nick Weiland, Founder and CEO of Travmedia, IMM, The Summit, and TravTrade.

Participants received detailed information on Georgia’s diverse tourist destinations, resorts, gastronomy, and adventure tourism opportunities.

The International Media Marketplace has been held in various cities around the world for 14 years.

This year, under the auspices of the state programme to promote Georgian wine, five Georgian wine-producing companies received co-financing totalling 224.3 thousand GEL. These are: Villa Mosavali, Chelti Winery, Tiko Estate, BG Wines, and Askaneli Brothers.

According to the National Wine Agency, a total of twenty applications were submitted to the programme, with only the aforementioned five companies meeting the necessary criteria.

“The volume of wine exported to target markets by participating companies amounted to 676,685.75 litres in 2025, representing a 20 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024,” the National Wine Agency stated.

In line with the programme’s objectives, and through targeted marketing efforts, these companies have substantially boosted their exports to markets across America, Europe, and Asia, the agency added.

The state programme to promote Georgian wine was approved by the Government of Georgia in September 2021, with the aim of enhancing the export potential of Georgian wine and diversifying priority markets. The LEPL National Wine Agency implements this programme in coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

“It is noteworthy that the agency offers co-financing for marketing expenses solely to companies exporting to priority markets around the world, excluding the CIS and GUAM countries,” the National Wine Agency concluded.
