With the support of UNICEF, the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center under the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), is launching a new project titled “Water and Environmental Health for Adults’ Safe Future.” The project aims to raise awareness among school students from various regions of Georgia about drinking water, the environment, indoor air pollution, and disaster risk reduction.

The project will focus on supporting the development of mechanisms to enhance youth engagement in environmental protection issues. In addition, participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the importance of the rational use and protection of water resources.

The project will involve 650 school students from 40 schools in Batumi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, and Poti, as well as 50 students from Kutaisi and Batumi State Universities. Training sessions and public lectures will be conducted for students and young people, while informational meetings will be organized with representatives of municipal authorities and kindergartens.

The project duration is 8 months.

With the support and partnership of UNICEF, over 1,000 students participated in projects implemented at the Energy Training Center in 2022-2024. These students have attended subject-specific trainings and public lectures to enhance their awareness of various important topics.
