Precipitation to persist in Georgia until April 14
“Intermittent rainfall will continue across Georgia until April 14, with heavy showers in certain regions, the possibility of thunderstorms, strong winds, and avalanche risks in high-altitude areas,” a statement from the National Environmental Agency (NEA) reads.
Forecasters warn that temperatures in mountainous regions are expected to drop to -2 to -4 degrees Celsius during the night of April 9-10.
“Negative temperatures may cause damage to fruit trees in bloom. The anticipated precipitation could lead to a significant rise in river water levels, trigger avalanches in high mountain zones, and activate landslide processes in hilly and mountainous terrain. The overall danger level is assessed as medium,” the agency states.
