Holy Fire descends in Jerusalem

Believers from all around the world once again witnessed the miracle of Holy Fire’s descending from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem on Saturday.

The Holy Fire descended at 15:13 Tbilisi time. Traditionally, the Patriarch of Jerusalem brought out the Holy Fire from the shrine encasing the Tomb of Christ.

The holy fire symbolizes resurrection of Jesus.

The Holy Fire will be brought by a special flight to Tbilisi on Saturday night, in time for the Easter midnight mass.

It will be delivered to all acting churches, and the parishioners will then be able to take it home.

Dighmura Bridge will be closed to traffic from April 15 for 5 months.

The old bridge across Dighmura River on Tetri Dukani Street will be dismantled, and a new bridge will be constructed, the Tbilisi City Hall reported.

The City Hall proposed alternative routes for motorcars travelling toward Sarajishvili Street.

Municipal transport and motorcars will have to move toward Vashlijvari settlement via Marshal Gelovani Avenue, passing Vaso Godziashvili and Petre Sarajishvili streets.

The #430 minibus will connect from Davit Agmashenebeli Street to Petre Sarajishvili Street from the Vashlijvari turn, via Marshal Gelovani Avenue.

Tbilisi City Hall apologized for the inconvenience.
