Government announces one-time financial support for World War II veterans and their families on 81st anniversary of victory
By government decree, participants of World War II will receive a one-time cash benefit of GEL 2,000, and the family members of those who lost their lives in the war will be awarded GEL 1,000, in commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the victory over fascism.
This financial assistance will be allocated to World War II veterans and the relatives of those who perished in the war as registered in the electronic database maintained by the State Service for Veterans Affairs.
According to the decree, the provision of this one-off cash social support across Georgia (excluding family members of veterans and fallen soldiers registered with the Tbilisi City Municipality) shall be managed by the LEPL Social Service Agency, under the supervision of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Protection of Georgia. The Tbilisi City Hall will allocate appropriate funds to assist family members of World War II veterans and the fallen registered in the city.
