Georgia’s foreign trade in goods grows by 8.6% in January–October 2025 - GeoStat
According to the National Statistics Office (GeoStat), Georgia’s foreign trade in goods (excluding undeclared trade) reached USD 20,831.5 million between January and October 2025, representing an increase of 8.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Data from GeoStat reveal that exports amounted to USD 5,835.9 million, a 6.8% rise, while imports stood at USD 14,995.7 million, showing a 9.3% increase.
Georgia’s trade deficit for the period was USD 9,159.8 million, accounting for 44.0% of the country’s total foreign trade turnover.
Furthermore, the agency’s report indicates that the ten largest trading partners accounted for 68.4% of Georgia’s total foreign trade in the first ten months of 2025. The country’s leading trading partners were Türkiye, with USD 2,536.2 million; the United States, with USD 2,343.3 million; and Russia, with USD 2,145.9 million.
Among the top ten export commodities during this period, light vehicles ranked first, with exports valued at USD 2,287.1 million, constituting 39.2% of all exports. The second-largest export category was precious metal ores and concentrates, at USD 291.6 million, followed by alcoholic beverages, at USD 230.1 million.
The most significant import commodity group was passenger cars, with imports valued at USD 3,152.4 million, representing 21.0% of total imports. This was followed by oil and petroleum products, at USD 1,098.2 million, and packaged medical products, at USD 559.9 million.

The European Commission has published the Rule of Law Index prepared by the World Justice Project.
According to the index, Georgia ranks first in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region in terms of the rule of law.
As part of the study, the global ranking on the effectiveness of crime control was also released. In this category, Georgia scored 92 percent on a 100-point scale and ranked 17th among the top 20 countries worldwide.
Georgia outperforms 23 European Union and NATO member states, as well as a number of other developed countries, including Germany, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, Lithuania, Latvia, Cyprus, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Albania, Bulgaria, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Greece, Slovakia, Malta, North Macedonia, and Turkey.
According to the methodology, the indicator published by the European Commission measures both the prevalence of criminal activity in countries and the general public’s perception of safety and security.
