Azerbaijani President offers “heartfelt” condolences to Georgian PM over tragedy in village of Saberio claiming lives of five children
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Thursday extended his “heartfelt” condolences to the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the families and loved ones of the children who had lost their lives in the village of Saberio in the Russian-occupied Gali district.
“We were deeply shocked by the news of the death of five children in the fire that broke out in the village of Saberio, Gali district. In connection with this tragedy, I share your grief and extend my heartfelt condolences to you, the families and loved ones of the children who lost their lives, and the entire people of Georgia on behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan”, Aliyev said in a letter.
Five minors on Sunday died in a fire in the Russian-occupied Abkhazia.
According to available information, the fire started in electrical wires, which resulted in a gas tank exploding in one of the rooms.

10 students from several universities in Armenia had the opportunity to visit the U.S. and attend a short educational program at UC Berkeley this summer, based on the results of the student contest “My Armenia, My Future” conducted by Ameriabank and Visa.
As part of the educational program the students attended lectures at one of the world’s best universities UC Berkeley, completed a Stanford campus tour, participated in interactive classes and groupwork, visited the world’s big tech firms and Visa Innovation Center.
The contest was announced by Ameriabank and Visa for students of all public and private universities of Armenia as part of the “My Ameria, My Armenia” campaign. The purpose of the contest was to identify and encourage proactive students with flexible and creative mindset, who care for the future of Armenia.
Under the contest “My Armenia, My Future”, in addition to the 10 packages to attend a short-term educational program at UC Berkeley, the students were competing also for 160 scholarships and funding from Ameriabank for the 3 best projects titled “My Armenia, My Future”.
