PM meets Permanent Representatives of various countries accredited to UN
Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia held a meeting with Permanent Representatives of different countries accredited to the United Nations, the Government Administration reported.
The discussion focused on Georgia’s economic and investment opportunities. The Head of Government of Georgia noted that peace and stability are ensured in the country, which are essential preconditions for economic development. The importance of cooperation and dialogue in multilateral formats was underscored, particularly in light of growing global security challenges.
The parties also discussed the longstanding and fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the United Nations. Special attention was given to the importance of supporting the resolution initiated by Georgia – Status of Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and the Tskhinvali Region/South Ossetia, Georgia – which is adopted annually by the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
During the meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about the peace policy of the Government of Georgia and expressed his gratitude to the Permanent Representatives of various countries at the United Nations for their firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the policy of non-recognition.
