Georgian PM attends opening of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday attended the Sustainable Development Week summit in Abu Dhabi.
Alongside his delegation, he took part in the summit’s opening ceremony and the awarding of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The summit was officially opened by Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates.
The event was also attended by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who presented awards to the winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize across its various categories.

Georgian Delegation participates in CoE Congress of Local and Regional Authorities

The Georgian delegation participates in the 50th Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (CoE) in Strasbourg.
Chairman of the Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo), Zurab Abashidze and Chair of the Sakrebulo’s Legal Affairs and Human Rights Commission, Nino Vardosanidze, participated in the opening.
The Congress, which opened on March 31 and runs till April 2, will hear a report from the fact-finding mission implemented on September 24-25 in Tbilisi, led by Stewart Dixon. The report includes recommendations and a resolution text, which will be reviewed and put to a vote.
The Congress will hold debates over acute issues for the region and Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.
The plenary session will also elect a new President of the Congress, as well as the Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the Chambers of Local and Regional Authorities.
Municipality Mayors of Akhaltsikhe and Poti, a member of the Adjara Supreme Council and members of Gardabani, Zugdidi and Kutaisi City Assemblies participate in the CoE 50th Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.
