Silknet marks its 16th anniversary
Silknet marks its 16th anniversary this year. Since its founding, the company has evolved into a trusted, high-tech provider serving more than 2 million subscribers. Thousands of employees contribute to Silknet’s ongoing technological advancement—a workforce that continues to grow. The company’s success is built on its people: professionals united by shared values and a common vision.
The strength of the Silknet team is reflected in the company’s latest milestones. In 2025, Silknet was named the fastest internet provider in Georgia by the globally recognized technology company Ookla; received the BARTA award for corporate transparency for the fourth time; and once again had its financial reliability affirmed by the international rating agency Fitch Ratings.
A major milestone in Silknet’s evolution is the launch of Silk Cloud, established to accelerate digital and cloud services in Georgia. Another strategically vital project is the construction of a high-tech data center. As part of this ambitious initiative, Georgia will gain its first AAA+ category data center for cloud services, designed to serve Silknet’s industrial clients, the B2B sector, and large organizations.
Silknet was the first company in the Georgian telecommunications market to introduce a 5G network and, in partnership with international collaborators, the company continues to actively expand fifth-generation connectivity across the country.
Beyond technology, Silknet remains committed to supporting socially and culturally significant initiatives. As part of its corporate social responsibility agenda, the company is the primary donor or sponsor for the Wounded Warrior Support Foundation, National Geographic Georgia, the Georgian Ski Federation and the Tsinandali Festival.
Over the past 16 years, Silknet has delivered large-scale projects that have fundamentally shaped Georgia’s telecommunications landscape. The company stays committed to its goal of providing subscribers with international-standard services and advancing the country’s digital ecosystem.
